2009 ‘The Road Less Travelled’ Woodside Sauvignon Blanc
Not your average Sauvignon Blanc, a significant portion of this wine underwent a wild fermentation in barrel. The balance was barrel fermented with inoculated yeasts. Aging sur lie with weekly battonage to encourages further textural development. A low sulpher régime encourages savory character. Six months maturation in seasoned French oak barriques provide a further textural influence. This is intended to be a more sophisticated, grown up style of wine, equally at home being slurped on a sunny afternoon, or as an accompiment to food.
